First Enterprise is an organisation which offers loans of £3,000 - £50,000 to companies to secure services, purchase equipment or meet a shortfall in funding for specific new projects, not existing running costs.

Funding Circle

Leicestershire County Council has set up a £1 million programme with Funding Circle, the UK's leading online marketplace for business loans, to help firms expand and grow. It is known as the Leicestershire Local Enterprise Fund. Businesses can borrow between £5,000 and £1 million and investors receive an average net return of 5.8 per cent.

The Harry James Riddleston Charity

Harry Riddleston is a charitable trust to help young people start their own businesses.

Eligible candidates may borrow up to £10,000 interest free for between 5 and 10 years to start or expand their own business, or for vocational or educational advancement.
